Motors

DoorCon supplies a variety of motors for the MDC3 sliding door controller. In addition to the motor a gearbox is required. The combination of motor voltage, size and gear ratios determines the power, force and speed of the door, and also whether or not the door can be opened manually.

In most cases the standard combination of motor and gearbox will be sufficient. This standard motor is the motor as described GR63x55 24Vdc +RE30 in combination with gearbox SG80 i=10:1.

However, it is possible to connect other motors if the application requires it. For more details on the motors and gears have a look on the site of ERIKS Aandrijftechniek/Elmeq. The DC brush type motors from Dunker have proven to be very suitable and reliable over the years. They are used all over the world.

The MDC3 requires a high resolution encoder (500 pulses per revolution on 2 lines).

In some cases, it is necessary to use a brake. This can be useful in case a lock is needed. The standard brake is type E90.

The transformer we use as a standard is 230/30-10A.
