MDC3 - the controller

The MDC3 is an advanced sliding door controller. With its many inputs and wide output range for the motor, every sliding door can be controlled by the MDC3. More advanced door movements and better control is possible with the encoder position feedback.

Sensors can be connected directly, each having an individual connector for easy wiring. Many other inputs are available as standard. Configuration of these inputs is selected through software. The outputs allow for additional control or for status information. Beside the inputs for the normal sensors and safety sensors there are inputs for a program switch, porter, fire, initialisation and emergency stop.

All the setting made can be defined in a customer specific default set. This makes it possible to have the door move with little or no adjustments. Settings are made through the KB300 control terminal. The KB300 is not only used for the settings also testing of connections and functioning of sensors is possible. As a permanent addition to the MDC3 the KB300 is used for status information of the door and as a program switch.

With the six programs and three open position options combined with all the inputs and the parameter settings, allow the MDC3 to be used in every situation. Settings can be done for speed, acceleration, open times, safety, and many more. All the settings can be done in the normalised units: mm, seconds, mV, mA , etc. The text can be shown in different languages.

At a minimum a transformer, motor with encoder and sensor are needed. In addition, other parts can be connected for more control, easier connection, security and safety. These are:

  • KB300 control terminal for status information, program selection and parameter setting
  • electromechanical lock
  • safety sensors
  • program switch
  • battery for operation during power loss
